A message from our Chairman

As the song goes, “Oh what a night”.

The first Burgess Hill RFC Dinner Dance and Awards to be held at the Club was an absolute cracking success.

The event was made possible by a few diligent and hard working people and I would like to thank Sara Hack, Nicki Lashley, Karen Phillips and Ros Plummer for the work they put in. I would also like to thank Bob Shed for his efforts and his own personal form of “entertainment” through the evening.

Also Ross Hallifax and all those others who helped sell and promote the tickets.

I am sure that shortly there will be all sorts of photographic evidence detailing the evenings events and these may well get to the web site. If you have any photos that you would like to share, please send to Richard Meredith and he will put them onto the web site for all to see.

With regards to the awards, the winner were:

Grunter of the Year – Christian Jones
Young Player – Jamie Sadd
2nd team most improved – Mat Hillier
1st team most improved – Tim Daniel
Top try scorer – Ian Parris and Owain Larard with 15 each
2nd team players player – Iain Campbell
1st team players player – Jon Maple
Club Man of the Year – Ross Hallifax
Corky’s Cup winner – Jon Maple

I think that everyone will agree that all of the above were deserved winners.

This was a great way to end the season so let’s look forward to next year and some summer training and pre-season to set us up for the season ahead. I shall be issuing details of summer training shortly.

Regards
