A terrific turnout was further enhanced by several new faces at the Under 11’s ‘Bring a Buddy’ training session.
Despite some biblical rain, and our best efforts of rain-dancing to the music, our group would not be washed away.
All attendee’s got straight into the warm-up (needed!) and on with the drills ably instructed by the four coaches.
Some skills and Mini-Games completed the session before the forecast lightning could arrive. However, that didn’t steal our thunder as Hot Chocolate (complete with cream and marshmallows) was warmly received by all participants. Let’s not forget the free hot-dog too, for the new ones. ‘Props’ really have to be given to them, as what must be a rather daunting prospect, was met with enthusiasm and a smile from them all, well done.
We really hope the newbies got the sweet taste of rugby. The team-spirit and camaraderie at BHFRC is second to none, and one last thing, it doesn’t rain all the time, we promise!
The U11's are a mixed of boys and girls, so If you know anyone in Year 6 at school who is interested in giving rugby a try, please get in contact u11@bhrfc.co.uk
