MATCH REPORT – BUCKERS
Burgess Hill/Uckfield 10-5 Crowborough
A phenomenal performance this morning saw the combined Burgess Hill/Uckfield squad “Buckers” topple top-of-the-table Crowborough.
After Crowborough’s pitches were deemed too wet, the fixture was reversed to Uckfield with an early kick-off. Buckers dominated much of the first half but were twice held up agonisingly close to the whitewash. Despite the pressure, it remained 0–0 at the break.
Crowborough came out firing in the second half and struck first to take a 5–0 lead. The response from Buckers, however, was outstanding. Showing real resilience and determination, superb tries from Will on the right wing and Ethan from full-back turned the game on its head.
Buckers continued to impose themselves physically, with powerful carries from Matthew, Casper and Jenson, and outstanding work at the breakdown helping the side hold firm for a fantastic win.
Without doubt our strongest performance of the season — the boys played the muddy, wet conditions perfectly. ?
We look forward to hosting Guildford next Sunday in an U16s friendly at Uckfield RFC.
