With both Burgess Hill 1's and 2's at home last Saturday afternoon, it was time to get some of these new players out into the world of Grassroots Rugby. With the pitches 'wetter than an Otter's pocket' the games went ahead.
With a certain Dave Wattam finding his boots after loosing them for a while, with Lee Collingbourne, Paul Hasib and Stuart Cooper stepping up it looked like and interesting afternoon was to be had. Toby Lewis showed a level head at stand off and helped push the team forward.
Dave Wattam was found guilty of 'Jug avoidance' for only scoring 2 tries for the side.
The game was close, but the Medics 8 was causing the home side considerable problems when he had ball in hand.
New signing Lewis Bedford ran some strong lines along with Ashley Dalmond, Tommy Maple and Harry Cleggy backing them up. Matt Higson showed some inspirational footwork and thought under pressure.
This was a great effort by all that pulled on their boots, this is exactly what we all want to see more of lads!! WELL DONE
