I DON'T THINK I'M FIT ENOUGH TO DO THIS?
Ah well, indulge me for a minute…
This event has been carefully planned to be accessible yet challenging to all fitness levels! Whether you’re a frequenting Functional fitness freak or just using this as motivation to start some training you’ll be able to take on this event!
Not sure about some of the stations & whether you’ll be able to do them? Well, each station will have 1 of our coaches to motivate, support and adjust the movements where necessary!
Still not sure? The event organisers are used to regularly running fitness event to cater for all ability levels with over 80 participants at a time, regularly coach over 300 members throughout the week and have an unhealthy obsession with fitness and helping people so trust me, you’re in good hands!
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
This is a fitness race event inspired by HighSocks but using some different workout elements and fitness challenges that you might see more specific to the pitch or pre-season.
Participants will go off every 15 minutes (mixed & same sex).
You will complete a 600m Run (pairs running together), then complete a set fitness challenge. How you divide that challenge up between you is up to you.
You will then set off on your next run and repeat this cycle.
All run routes, workout zones, instructions and areas will be marked clearly.
BUT I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RUGBY?
Well, thats perfectly fine! You need absolutely no pre-requisite rugby skill or knowledge to take part in RugbyRox!
There is no contact, no skill requirement, just fitness & fun!
CAN MY SON OR DAUGHTER DO IT?
Members of BHRFC Youth & Potential Personal Training that are 14+ can take part in Rugby Rox. For members of the public this will be 18+.
We are however also run Junior Rugby Rox (7-14yrs).
WHAT IF ITS RAINING/ BAD WEATHER?
Athlete, staff & volunteer safety is of the upmost importance to us as event organisers, so you can rest assured we will adjust and accommodate the fitness challenges with whatever weather circumstances we have to ensure you still have a safe yet effectively challenging event!
That being said, we as humans are these amazing beings that can cope in all kinds of weather eventualities, Rugby is a multi season sport, PPT Sessions have been run in the blazing sun though to snowy days out on Lindfield common… In other words, YOU WILL BE FINE!
Its its raining, bring a towel & a change of clothes, maybe a lightweight coat. If its sunny, wear suncream & hydrate well. If its windy, just stick your nut down and run harder into the wind!
